Pisistratos was succeeded by the son of Hipparxos, known for his love for the arts. Hipparxos in 514 b.c fell victim of a political conspiracy and was assasined from Armodios and Aristogeitonas, who after the suppression of tyranny were heroically honoured from the Athenians.
