ATHENS PALIO FALIRO Museum Ship Averof

It takes only a few minutes to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and go to the sea. Palio Faliro is the seaside suburb nearest to the city centre and the right place for a swim at the beach or a stroll among the luxurious yachts of the Flisvos Marina.

Permanently moored at the marina is an interesting sight: The awe-inspiring battle ship Averof that took part in the Balkan Wars in 1912-1913 fighting for the liberation of Greece. The interior of this legendary ship has been transformed into a museum with memorabilia from conflicts of the early 20th century.
