I visit Athens twice a year. With Barcelona they're my favorite cities in Europe. Ok, I admit that I'm 27 and love meeting people! And Greeks, specially young people are a dream come true! Beautiful girls and boys, so open, knowing so many foreign laguages,loving having cafe frappé all year long... Many people forget that Athens is a capital city with a huge beach-coastal avenue (the famous Paraliaki). So seeing the sea in summer or in winter is something that makes me feel alive! Everybody should visit Athens to discover a all-time changing metropole, getting so modern but keeping its own greek characteristics! And the myth about pollution pffff... I'm telling Paris and Marseille are so much more polluted than Athens! (ok, just know that if temperature hits 40°c nobody goes downtown, as simple as that !) So many things were transformed for the dream of the Olympic Games in 2004... Lets meet at Plaka or Psyrri!) Greek Kisses

When my travel partner and I first gawk at the Acropolis shining like a lit-up wedding cake above the city, I feel like a kite tugging at its string. This icon of ancient Athens is real to us now, no longer a postcard or an image in a history or guide book, or movie. Each view presents a photo opportunity.

Also modern Athenians prove friendly as outer-islanders. In spite of the language barrier, we easily strike up conversations. Smiles and gestures fill in the blanks.

I was two times in Greece and i can only say that Greece is the most beautifull country in the World.

I was in Athens during the summer olympics and had the time of my life. It truely is a magnificant city with loads of stuff to do, day and night. The summer clubs near to the area of Glyfada were excellent and really smart inside. Definately going to go back for summer 2005. I just hope that I can stay for more then two weeks this time.

I have lived in Athens for 7 weeks and worked there as a volunteer at the Olympic Games. Later I returned again for 2 weeks, to experience the Paralympics as well. This city is so much alive. Beside the fact that live takes place outside, on the street, the people are great, the climat is wonderful and Athens' history is still so much alive. To have a drink with friends at the foot of the Acropolis is the most wonderful way of ending your day. I adore all the ancient archeological sites that still exists in this city, but of course in the whole of Hellas. I can just simply walk in the center of Athens without any goal, just to embrace this vivid, ancient, beautiful city. And then, to breath all the fresh air in the National Garden and take the Metro back home. These weeks were one of the most wonderful weeks of my live!

Absoultely wonderful. Ideal for those who love to experience the culture of others. The world of Athens is magical. The beaches, people and wether is spectacular. Its ancient herritage is a must-see and a trip to sounio of the sunset, alos a must-see. The regular stalls distributed around the churches in celebration of particular ancient gods make you at one with the everyday life. A trip to remember. *****
