In 1826 and while the revolutionary government had elected the I. Gkoy'ra "General Head of Eastern Greece" made their appearance in Attica the troops of Kjoytahi' (1801-1836). In June 1826 began the Turkish siege of Citadel in the duration of which was killed the I. Gkoy'ras. The siege lasted up to May 1827, when the Citadel was delivered in their Toy'rkoys.
